printing by numbers is a concept that came about during
a stay in St. Louis, Missouri in November 2002. It is an
attempt to highlight a comparison and an encounter - one
with a picturesque America as seen in movies from the 1950s: small family homes without fences, decorated with flags and Halloween items that haven't been taken down yet.
Despite the individual decorations there is unity, disrupted by house number plaques that rarely look alike. Different than "at home"? - the comparison, of here and somewhere else.
Uniformity and individuality are being traced.
